At the beginning of World War II in 1939, in a secret bunker near the border of Russia and Finland, the Nazis began “Anti-Death” experiments on captured Russian soldiers. Two years later the project was abandoned with all records destroyed on the orders of Adolf Hitler and the test subjects buried in mass graves nearby.

Soon after those events, an elite squad of US soldiers is teamed up with a Finnish task force and sent on a mission to seek out and destroy the bunker along with any inhabitants remaining there. More

Wes Anderson is in Cannes with the debut of his new film Moonrise Kingdom, but he is already looking towards his next feature. The director has explained in recent interviews that “it’s a film I want to make in Europe, a Euro movie,” saying that he has recently finished the script. He also says that the new film draws to some extent on the time he spends living in Paris each year. More

Jose Padilha‘s remake of RoboCop, has a new name attached in the shape of Oscar nominee Gary Oldman will be in it. Today news came out that Oldman will play a major role opposite Joel Kinnaman, who was cast a few weeks back as the new version of Alex Murphy, a cop who is killed (nearly killed?) but revived as a cyborg police officer. Told with uncommon accuracy and refraining from any measure of sensationalism, this fascinating and disturbing film fell foul of a media-driven campaign upon its original cinema release which resulted in an effective ban.
